Cordova Waterfront Master Plan

Cordova, Illinois

Lakota prepared a master plan for the Village of Cordova’s waterfront that addresses new open space, public access, and amenities along the Mississippi River. Lakota analyzed several potential sites along the river and with community input, selected two sites for detailed planning. The plan addressed improved public access through a new boat launch, accessible fishing piers, bird watching facilities, restored wetland habitats, and active recreational facilities including a skate park and basketball courts. Alternate concepts included a constructed beach area, new village hall, and an interpretive nature center. Lakota worked with local and state agencies throughout the process to ensure that the master plan was based on regulatory requirements and potential funding opportunities.
