Loyola Academy Master Plan

Wilmette, IL

The development of a master plan was an opportunity for Loyola Academy to look to the future and create a realistic and achievable roadmap to guide their decisions. The Lakota team organized the master planning in two tracks—the first combining community engagement and master plan development and the second a public approval and entitlement process through the Village of Wilmette. Lakota engaged the school community and area stakeholders early in the process to understand the unique issues and opportunities that face Loyola, which also helped strengthen a positive dialogue between the neighborhood and the institution.

Ultimately, this process led to the development of a broader long-term vision that refocuses campus growth. The plan, which was approved by the Village, includes physical and programmatic improvements such as athletic facility expansion, parking and circulation improvements, outdoor gathering spaces, and landscape character enhancements.
