Lakota is happy to announce it just received two awards from the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects for two very different projects.  Lakota’s work at Hubbard Woods Park received a Merit award in the General Design-Constructed Projects category. This project examined an under-utilized open space and provided improvements to help reinvigorate the park and surrounding neighborhood commercial district.  The Calumet and Southeast Chicago Lakefront Region Wayfinding Concept, a project that covered a 900-square mile bi-state area, was given an Honors in the Communications category.   The jury acknowledged the project’s “ambitious geographic scope” and noted its fun, clear and easy to follow graphics that will create a family of icons that will be effective in the landscape.
