Torrence is a planner whose experience includes strategic planning and zoning variation application reviews for municipalities and the American Planning Association. He also has an expansive background in community engagement through his past roles with the American Red Cross and other civic-focused roles in which he helped formulate development strategies for diverse populations. By incorporating strong community engagement and land use principles into every project he works on, Torrence will seek to create outcomes that are equitable and understandable for all.
Torrence strongly believes in the power of planning. He is actively engaged in community politics in his Chicago neighborhood and is involved in the Chicago Chapter of the New Leaders Council which is the hub for progressive millennial thought leadership. Torrence earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Illinois State University in 2013. He is currently in his final year of graduate school from University of Illinois at Chicago’s Urban Planning and Public Policy program.
