About The Project

The Lakota Group, a planning and urban design firm based in Chicago, has been retained by the City of La Salle to prepare a new Comprehensive Plan. The Lakota Group and its team of subconsultants—T.Y. Lin International and CLUE Group—will craft a list of related implementation strategies related to La Salle’s long term community development and revitalization, as well as address critical issues related to adequate infrastructure, enhanced community design and aesthetics, downtown business development, affordable housing, parks and open spaces; new transportation options, historic resources, and, achieving a more diverse, sustainable economy. The plan will also focus on addressing the needs of the community that have been most affected by recent flooding events and find realistic and practical solutions for minimizing future disaster damage.
