The Village of Niles has launched its Arts and Culture Master Plan and has engaged The Lakota Group, a planning and design firm located in Chicago, to lead the effort. Jon Pounds, a public arts consultant who serves on the Americans for the Arts Public Art Network Council, is assisting Lakota on the project.
By working closely with Village staff, the Public Arts and Culture Advisory Council, and a variety of stakeholders, the planning team will identify realistic and implementable short-term and long-term goals and objectives for improving the arts and culture environment throughout the community. It is our goal to create a key community tool to further define the character of Niles, improve the attractiveness and vibrancy of the community, and enhance the livability of the Village.
A Draft Niles Arts and Culture Master Plan is now available for public viewing. The Master Plan presents potential strategies for fostering arts and cultural activities in Niles. Click on the link below to check it out!
