Elmhurst City
Centre Wayfinding Plan and Signage Design:
Lakota prepared a Wayfinding Plan and Signage Design for the City of Elmhurst to guide visitors, tourists, and shoppers traveling to its Downtown, landmark Wilder Park, museums, and Elmhurst College. The
wayfinding system includes more than 50 “decision” locations throughout the City and Downtown for special directional/identity signs. The signs incorporate the City’s logo and elm
motif and were adapted to various graphic messages. The wayfinding/sign system was a key initiative of Lakota’s Comprehensive Planning Study for the Downtown.
The system also includes
gateway/identity piers at the north and south edges of Downtown on York Road
and City gateway signs at main entrances into the community.
