Laurance Armour Day School provides
day care services within the Rush
University Medical Center on Chicago’s West Side. The site’s urban setting required special design considerations
because of its limited space, accessibility, and central building location.
Play areas for different age groups were created around the building to
provide children with an array of horticultural and physical experiences that
bring education and socialization to their play. The site includes a variety of play equipment, plant material, structures, and features, such as miniature traffic signs, a spray fountain, and custom tissue boxes.
